Description

Some of the oldest Riesling vines in the state (47 years old) were selected for this ice wine. Grown on a steep southern slope in shallow, sandy, high carbonate soils, these Riesling vines are cropped very low (2-3 tons/acre) allowing for great intensity and concentration of flavors in the resulting fruit. The name Terra Blanca, Latin for white earth, is named for the high calcium carbonate content that whitens soils of our Red Mountain vineyard and helps produce the incredible depth and structure in the grapes. The first grapes were harvested from our estate vineyard in 1997
